Thanks. The 18' is well along in its construction and I'll be posting more photos on the blog page in the coming weeks.

This is a great idea. I'm planning on building the 'open' 18' version and I'm sure this site will be a great help in the future

Hey this is a good idea!! I like the look of the Pup, that thing will fit in the back of my truck!!! a little ramp to glide it up and off we go!

Thanks everybody. Glad to see all the responses and enthusiasm.
The 18' as an open boat will be a huge daysailer and adding a boom tent will make a great cruiser.
The Pup is designed to fit in a standard pickup bed. Love to see one sailing some of those wilder places lacking a launch ramp.

I am interested in building a Super Pelican Yangtze 18'.
Does anyone know of any photos of such a boat or of any person who has built one?
Does anyone know what the inside dimensions of the cabins would be?
Muriel Short sent me a photo of a Yangtze model built by Sam Flaherty and I wondered if anyone knows how to contact him. I think he would have built his full scale Yangtze by now. I think she said he is from Oregon. I am in Salem OR

I haven't seen a Yang Tse yet but have experimented with junk rig on the Pelican hull with good results.
Looks like there would be enough room in the cabins for full sitting headroom with bunk space under the cockpit seats.
Muriel may have more on that project and is a great source of information on all things Pelican.
