Mill, laminate and shape parts: 60 hours    

Cut scarfs and glue:                 15 hours

Assemble parts:                        145 hours

In addition to the strongback the Platypus kits include the following:

Plywood panels: Okoume Mahogany, Marine Grade, Lloyd's of London BS1088 rating, pre-cut to size and shape.
Framing: Clear vertical grain Douglas fir and Phillipine mahogany, milled to specs per original plans. 
Knees and trim: Phillipine mahogany, pre-cut to shape
Spars: solid Sitka spruce, pre-cut to length.
Fasteners: Stainless steel
Epoxy: Marine grade
Caulking: 3M Polyurethane

 

Time averages are for building hull, centerboard and trunk, rudder, deck, interior, coamings, trim and all spars.
